WRITTEN DOWN!
Luke
10:17-20
17 And the
seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are
subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he
said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I
give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all
the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but
rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
It
can be a heady thing
to understand the power we have in the name of Jesus. We who minister in the
Word can, if we are not careful, develop the misconception that we are the
source instead of the conduit for that power. No, the power belongs to God
alone.
The
names of believers
are written in “the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21:27). That is our great
cause of rejoicing.
Dear
Lord, my name is enrolled in the eternal record of the redeemed. In that I do
very much rejoice. AMEN
