HE HEALS THE WOUNDED SPIRIT!
Ps 147:3
3 He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds.
Prov 16:23-24
23 The heart of the wise teacheth
his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 Pleasant words are as an
honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Human relationships are fragile. We sometimes wound each other more deeply than any sword
could. We do this with angry words and unfaithful deeds. The relationship that
was built on trust now teeters precariously on doubt, fear, and uncertainty. It
is a volatile mix that is often ignited by revenge. It engulfs others.
Prov 16:28
28 A froward man soweth strife: and
a whisperer separateth chief friends.
Does time really heal all wounds? I’ve lived long enough to cautiously say yes. Conditions
apply but time is a great healer. We move on and grow up. The wounds will heal
if we don’t pick at them. Scars are not a reminder of who hurt us but how well
we healed. We overcame and the tears dried.
Old wounds remind us of the faithfulness of God and encourage us during times of confusion and conflict.
One day we will look back and see this trial differently. We will see old
enemies as mutual victims of bad times and bad decisions. Every scar has a
story but we must be careful how we tell it.
Dear Lord, thank you for being a
Healer of wounded spirits. AMEN
