MEN SHOULD ALWAYS PRAY
Luke 18:1-5
18 And he spake a
parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to
pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There
was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a
widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would
not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God,
nor regard man;
5 Yet because
this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she
weary me.
There is no lack of
needs for which to pray. This parable points out that the one who would answer
those prayers became weary of the widow. This clearly identifies the judge as a
self-focused and self-loving man because he cared not for God nor for man. This
judge does not represent God in the parable but rather provides a contrast to
the caring nature of our prayer answering God. God does care for man.
Ps 34:15-17
15 The eyes of
the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open
unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the
remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous
cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out
of all their troubles.
Thank you, dear Lord, for answering when I call. AMEN
