MENDING A BROKEN HEART!

1 Cor 13:7

7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

           Love is a Super Hero! “Beareth all things” is translated from the Greek panta stegei which means “to endure, bear, sustain, cover, conceal, and contain.” Wow! Love is strong – because it has to be.

           Love never give up! It may be terribly wounded by a fickle subject but it never abandons the one it loves. The grand and distinguishing property of love to cover and conceal the fault of another. It is manifested in the painful cry from the cross “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

           Love is not selfish! Love is a giver and not a taker. Love looks outward and not inward. Love is always subject to being hurt. Love is sacrificial.

           The entire Old Testament book of Hosea is built on the command for Hosea to marry a whore! This illustrated the pain felt by Jehovah caused by His love for an unfaithful people.

Dear Lord, thank you for your steadfast love. Let me love like you. AMEN
