SORCERIES!

Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
The
9th chapter describes the conditions of the earth after the
church is removed by the Rapture. Christians, along with their godly influence,
are gone to heaven. The earth is void of good men. The Holy Spirit who indwelt
them is mostly inactive as well. Evil prevails with violence and immorality and
avarice mushrooming in growth.
When
we think of the word sorcery, we think of magic, tricks, slights of
hand, legerdemain, and potions. Interestingly, the Greek word for “sorceries”
is pharmakeia
which forms the basis for our English word pharmacy. The drug culture will be part of the evil and it has
already begun.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
