BE THE REASON
Ps 84:5-6
5 Blessed is the
man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also
filleth the pools.
The word Baca means
“weeping,” and the symbolism is startling. The world we
live in is cursed because of man’s sin. It is a hard place full of weeping. The
people we meet are discouraged, parched, and looking for refreshment. When we
meet them, we can form a society of weepers, or we can dig a well.
It is not easy
digging. The ground is dry, and the sun is high and hot. Few are willing to
help dig as they form a circle around our shovel with cups in hand. They look
to us for refreshment, but our souls are as dry as theirs. But keep digging and
keep smiling through those parched lips.
Be the reason others are
refreshed and encouraged today. You will drink from your own well.
Prov 10:10
11 The mouth of a
righteous man is a well of life: but violence
covereth the mouth of the wicked.
Lord, let me be a well of refreshment to others today. AMEN
