TIME DRAGS WHEN YOU’RE HAVING NONE!
Eph
5:15-17
15 See then
that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming
the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore
be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
The business of living has taken the life out of it for
some. You’ve heard that “time flies when you’re having fun?” Well, time
drags when none of those things that once were normal remain. We are
all cooped up and no place to go!
The young wish time to speed because they can hardly wait to
experience what the old now find commonplace. If they only had a different
perspective the young would relish their youth and not wish for advancing age.
As believers in an ageless God, we are urged to buy up time and
opportunity and to store it. “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as
fools, but as wise redeeming the
time, because the days are evil. Eph
5:15-16 The word “redeeming” means “to ransom or to rescue from
loss.” We must be aware of the value of time and we must be careful not
to waste it.
Our English word opportunity comes
from the Latin and means "toward the port." It suggests a ship taking
advantage of the wind and tide to arrive safely in the harbor. The brevity of
life is a strong argument for making the best use of the opportunities God
gives us. If God saved me, He has a purpose for my life, and I should discover
that purpose and then guide my life accordingly. Warren Wiersbe
Dear Lord,
let me not waste valuable time today! Let me manage time – even leisure time –
so that I might fulfill your purpose for my life. AMEN
