A TIME FOR EVERYTHING!

Eccl 3:1-5
3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

           Solomon used fourteen statements to declare that God is at work in our lives and His “purpose” is to accomplish His will. The Hebrew word for “purpose,” in verse one is chephets and it indicates a “valuable thing; a delightful matter.” Understanding this would confirm that God has good plans for us if we would only cooperate with Him.

Jer 29:11
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

           The Hebrew word for “expected” in the above verse is tiqvah and means “hope; the thing that I long for.” Well, that must mean that God knows our thoughts and our deep desires. Can that be true? Well, Jesus said: “your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matt 6:8

           We do not know what God’s purposes are during these difficult and confusing times. We only know God’s plans are to give us “the thing we long for.” This is not because we deserve it, but because God is good! Lott would hardly be anyone’s model of faithfulness and yet God delivered him from Sodom.

2 Peter 2:9
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Dear Lord, bring relief to your children. Give us discernment regarding your purposes. Help us to trust your loving and merciful nature even when we are confused about your actions. AMEN
