NEEDING GOD’S GUIDANCE!
Ps
43:3
3 O send out
thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring
me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Ps
90:12
12 So teach
us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Providence
literally
means foresight, but is generally used to denote God’s preserving and governing
all things by means of secondary causes. Most of us would like to know the
future. That is the force of Psalm 90 and verse 12. The psalmist wanted to know
how to calculate the “time he had left” so that he could use that time wisely
and no foolishly.
The
fact is
that God alone knows what tomorrow holds for us. We plan and we scheme but God
directs out path through secondary causes. We call them chance encounters but
God has set them in our path as guide stones or stumbling stones. We choose!
James 4:13-14
13 Go to
now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue
there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas
ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a
vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Ps
37:5
5 Commit
your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust
(lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
AMPLIFIED
BIBLE
Lord,
most of us want to know the future thinking we might avoid difficulty but I’m
afraid what we really long for it to wrest control of our lives from your
hands. Thank you for better plans than I could even imagine. AMEN
