PRAYER
REQUIRES FAITH!
Matt
21:21-22
21
Jesus
answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt
not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye
shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
it shall be done.
22
And
all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Prayer
is talking with God!
Those who do not believe in Him and have not received His offer of salvation
certainly may pray but they do not have the confidence that God will answer
because they have no relationship with Him. Believers, on the other hand,
already trust God and have a relationship with him that is based upon faith.
God has made promises to them and they believe those promises.
Faith
is the most important aspect of prayer! Without faith one who prays may seem to
be just talking to the sky. The writer of Hebrews explains it this way: “But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him” Heb 11:6. Think of it this way. If you needed
something, would you ask a stranger or a friend?

John 5:14-15
14
And
this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any
thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15
And
if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him.
Lord,
we have known each other for a long time, although you surely know me much
better than I know you. Ours is a friendship based on love – mostly your love
for me – but also my love for you. Lord, when I pray hear me and answer based
on your knowledge and love and not mine. AMEN
