MUCH RUBBISH

MUCH RUBBISH!

Neh 4:10

10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.

Why Judah? Why did the tribe of Judah cave in to the daunting task of removing the ruin of the old walls? Perhaps it was because they had been engaged in friendly communication with the enemy! (See the verse below) Be careful of your contacts, your emails, and your social networking. While you are influencing them they are also influencing you.

Neh 6:17

17 Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.

Rubbish must be cleared away! Before building a new life in Christ can begin the ruin of the old life must be cleared away. It is difficult because we have become accustomed to the rubble. We use it as furniture! It’s part of our life. Even a clean spot of land must be prepared before construction can begin. Builders call it “site preparation.” What needs to be cleared away from your life today?

Discouragement and complaining spread rapidly and hinder God's work. We do not read that Nehemiah paid much attention to their complaint; he kept on building, watching, and praying. We should too.

Dear Lord, let me not become too comfortable with the rubbish in my life. Help me to resolutely clear away that which is not building materials. AMEN
