THEY ARE FOOLS!

Ps 14:1  [also Ps 53:1]
14 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Recently I’ve been asked why there is so much rioting and lawlessness. My only answer is that they are fools. One can arrive at this possible conclusion by both inductive and deductive reasoning. Inductive reasoning is the opposite of deductive reasoning. Inductive reasoning makes broad generalizations from specific observations. Basically, there is data, then conclusions are drawn from the data. Deductive reasoning, or deduction, starts out with a general statement, or hypothesis, and examines the possibilities to reach a specific, logical conclusion. Either way, the conclusion is the same.

" Abigail described her husband, Nabhal, as "a son of Belial" (the Revised Version (British and American) "worthless fellow"), "for as his name is, so is he" (1 Sam 25:25), and what we read of him bears out this character.” (from International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Electronic Database Copyright © 1996, 2003, 2006 by Biblesoft, Inc.            Inductive reasoning concludes that those who are the major players in our most recent history are fools. “They have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” There is sufficient data to draw a logical conclusion.

Deductive reasoning makes an identical claim. “These appear to be fools but let’s look at the possibilities before we rush to judgment.” Okay, do rational people burn buildings, steal property, and harm others because of grief or outrage? Well, no. There are other, more reasonable ways to mourn or to sue for redress. There is sufficient corroborating evidence to reach the same conclusion. These are fools.

The heart is the seat of foolishness in those who do not acknowledge God. Adam Clarke says: "The speech of transgression to the wicked is in the midst of his heart." "There is no fear of God before his eyes." It is not by example that such a person sins, the fountain that sends forth the impure streams is in his own heart.” [See Psalm 36:1]

Dear Lord, make my heart pure that my mind may practice wisdom. AMEN
