HEARING GOD SPEAK!
Isa
30:21
21 And thine
ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it,
when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
God’s
people had lost their way
and had listened to wrong voices. God had sent various problems [the bread of
adversity] to turn them in the right direction. Their teachers had also lost
their vision and had become blind guides. Yet God would not abandon them. He
would guide them.
Today
there are too many voices!
Some pronouncing woe and encouraging discouragement while others are blind to
real problems. Each voice begs to be heard. Each voice lists their demands. The
roar and din have made hearing God very difficult indeed. But God is speaking.
Do you hear Him?
The
word “behind”
indicates “after or again.” The voice is still there but you have to focus and
listen carefully. Dr. Barnes says “The idea is taken either from the practice
of teachers who are represented as "following" their pupils and
admonishing them if they were in danger of going astray or from shepherds, who
are represented as following their flocks, and directing them when they
wandered.”
Jesus
promised
us the Holy Spirit who would be within us and would “guide us into all truth.”
Ps
143:8
8 Cause me
to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause
me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto
thee.
Dear
Lord, today someone is in need of clear direction. Do not fail them. Guide them
with Thine eye and lead them in a clear path. AMEN
