EMBRACING A NEW NORMAL!
Lev 23:42-43
42 Ye shall
dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children
of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I
am the Lord your God.
Josh 3:3
3 And they
commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the
Lord your God, and the priests the
Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
Deut 12:9
9 For ye are
not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you.
The Feast of Tabernacles is a seven-day celebration of the
faithfulness of God throughout the wilderness wanderings. During their
forty-year trek, every day was a new day and the view from their tent flap was
all new geography. No permanent structures were built. Even the Tabernacle of
worship was portable. Daily they were reminded that life was a temporary
arrangement. Even their food was new every morning!
Today
we attach too much significance to our things and too little significance to our
relationships. We forget that life is still a temporary arrangement. Change is
the only thing that doesn’t change. Every day we must embrace a new “normal.”
Every day believers are reminded that “ye are not AS YET come to the
rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God has given you!”
Whatever God has decreed for you and wherever He has placed you,
embrace it as today’s “normal” but remember that we are not yet home!
Heb 11:8-10
8 By faith
Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he
went.
9 By faith
he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling
in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same
promise:
10 For he
looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Dear Lord,
we look for a city that has foundations. Help us to follow your lead as we
daily live our lives in an ever-changing set of circumstances. AMEN
