A NEW PATH!
Josh 3:3-4
3 And they commanded the people,
saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the
priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and
go after it.
4 Yet there shall be a space between
you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that
ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way
heretofore.
There will inevitably come a time when the Lord will guide us in a new way. He wants us to
sense His leading, to cooperate fully, and move in a new direction. It
will be frightening and full of surprises because we have not walked
this way before!
Unfortunately,
we don’t like change. We grow comfortable in old patterns of action and
behavior.
God often creates a stirring within that we don’t understand. It is like a craving
for something and we may empty the pantry trying to
satisfy it. Once we have identified what God is trying to tell us, everything
begins to make sense.
Most important
was to keep the Ark in sight! In other words, don’t lose sight of the Lord.
Don’t get too close or lag too far behind. We must never kick in doors
that are closed to us nor fail to walk through open ones. If we have grown
comfortable, God may allow things to upset us so that we will be
willing to follow His direction.
Not surprisingly,
once we discern and say yes to God’s leading, all the puzzle pieces begin to
fit together. The picture becomes clearer. Fear subsides and we anticipate
God’s blessings.
Isa 30:21
21 And thine ears shall hear a word
behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right
hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Lord, I and many others need your
clear guidance today. Be patient with us because new ways are frightening. AMEN
