MY MORNING RANT!

I feel compelled to speak all my mind on the following topics although they may not be universally popular, but some things must be addressed in a reasonable fashion. I hope that is what follows.

Religious violence: Two days ago, gunmen attacked Muslim worshippers in New Zealand, a country so peaceful that often police do not carry guns. This was likely a frustrated response to Islamic terrorism. The violence and cruelty can’t be upheld by any religious system of which I am aware. I am certain that Christianity is not a proponent of terrorism or violence. Islam claims to be a religion of peace yet throughout history these two have been at odds. The basis of Britain’s crusades was to liberate the Holy Land from Islam. The players have changed but the conflict continues.

Gun Control: The violent attacks on defenseless schools and houses of worship have triggered knee jerk responses from those who would disarm us. Laws are already in place to restrict the ownership and use of guns, but no law formed can restrict idiocy. The Second Amendment to our constitution allows me the ability to defend myself, my family, and my nation.

A gun is a thing. A law can’t take my gun from me. That would require someone else with a gun, but those who would take away guns must understand that return fire is always possible. The defense of self, family, and nation will continue whether it is with a gun or a plumber’s helper and so we plunge ahead with whatever arms are available.

Killing babies: Never, since the worship of Baal, have we seen the wholesale slaughter of babies either born or yet unborn. Some say there is no biblical restriction to such practices but consider that if an Israelite woman suggested the abortion of her baby, that would have been such a horrific thought that there was no need to write a law against it!

Securing borders: No nation but America has ever considered the idea of open borders with benefits. It defies reason! Ancient cities were enclosed by walls and often by two walls. One wall would be inside the other wall so that any intruder would need to scale first one and then another. These walls also had gates. Nobody is mentioning gates these days. Gates allowed for the reasonable passage of guests coming in and citizens going out. Gates are reasonable but they are useless without walls. Without borders the world reverts to an ancient time of nomadic warring tribes where personal safety and personal property is acquired and retained by violence. Indeed, that is what we are seeing.

Politics and politicians: Even saying the words makes me want to spit. Elected by those who believe their lies, they drain their constituents of all things valuable and praiseworthy. There are no public servants. There are no statesmen. There are only politicians. Oh, and if politicians are truly as stupid as they appear then they should be incarcerated for their own safety and the safety of others. They are a menace.

What to do: "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party" is a phrase first proposed as a typing drill by instructor Charles E. Weller; its use is recounted in his book The Early History of the Typewriter, p. 21 (1918).

That’s all for now.
