OVERLOOKED!
1
Sam 16:10-11
10 Again, Jesse made seven of his
sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not
chosen these.
11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are
here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and,
behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him:
for we will not sit down till he come hither.
Seven sons
passed before Samuel. All were tall, handsome and
king-worthy but God had not chosen them. Even David’s father, Jesse, did not
even remember that he had one more little boy watching sheep. He was
overlooked.
Unskilled
parenting is creating an epidemic of
overlooked young people. Statistics tell us that many of them feel deeply
overlooked and worthless. Some of them even contemplate ending their life’s
story not realizing that other wonderful chapters are yet to be written.
Perhaps you feel a bit overlooked today. Your work seems unimportant
and, so far, nobody has applauded or rewarded you. Don’t lose heart! There may
be a Samuel awaiting to anoint you to be king!
Prov
3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
Dear Lord, it is not obscurity to
watch your sheep on your hillside under your blanket of stars. There is laid up
for me a crown of righteousness. Let me serve in thy lowest places with joy.
AMEN
