CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL!
Now that I have your attention, take a look at these verses!
Gen
3:17-19
17 And unto Adam he said, Because [something happened] thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife,
and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not
eat of it: cursed is the ground [there
was a consequence] for thy sake; in
sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and
thistles shall it bring forth to thee; [this
is a major change] and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face [this change is going to be inconvenient]
shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou
taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. [This change will last a lifetime.]
Rom
8:22-23
22 For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves
also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within
ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
The Greek
word for “groaneth” is sustenazo
and means “to experience a common calamity.” The Greek word for
“travaileth in pain” is sunodino and reminds us of a woman in labor. She is working hard and
is in pain but she is anticipating a joyful relief from her suffering.
The whole
creation is suffering for man’s sin. It was
established in perfection and harmony but now it groans, produces discomfort,
and often calamity. We did this and
nature is not happy about it but nature also knows there is a day of
restoration coming and a time of joy.
God has cursed the ground for our sake yet He, and not nature
itself, is still in control. Take comfort in the following verse.
Gen
8:22
22 While the earth remaineth,
seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and
night shall not cease.
Dear Lord, we are growing tired of
winter and long for spring. We know the earth will soon experience yet another
resurrection because you are faithful. Some are groaning due to illness or hard
circumstances. Encourage them today we pray. AMEN
