GOD
HATES BEING LIED TO!
Prov 6:16-19
16
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to
mischief,
19
A
false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among
brethren.
The
very first lie
plunged mankind into sin and doomed many to hell. God had placed man in an
idyllic setting with a perfect climate, balanced nutrition, and no predators.
One single restriction was given him which he violated as a result of Satan’s
lie. “Thou shalt not surely die.” This
was an unmitigated, unsubstantiated, outright bald faced lie and Eve believed
it.
Have
you ever wondered
what the “honest-to-God” truth would sound like if it was always used? Consider
this conversation between a pastor and an absentee. Pastor: “I missed you last
Sunday.” Absentee: “Oh, I didn’t come to worship because my favorite football
team was playing early and I had forgotten to stop at Walmart to buy enough
beer.” It ranks up there with “My dog ate my homework!”
When
we are honest with God and spend time in His Word we are changed little by
little into the image He desires us to become.( 2 Corinthians 3:18) Honesty means being free from deceit or untruthfulness,
being sincere. The Christian life should be one marked with integrity and
honesty.
Rev 21:8
…and
all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death.
Dear
Lord let me be both truthful and kind in my dealings today. AMEN
