GOD IS NOT A MAN!

GOD IS NOT A MAN!

Num 23:19
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Job 38:3-7
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

          Job, in his misery, was disappointed with God. He longed for a face-to-face so that he could submit a list of grievances and demand reparation. Be careful what you wish for!

          God appears and makes some demands of His own. The point of it all is simply that God is not a man with human limitations. He is not limited by time or space or by any other boundary we might imagine. He laid the foundations of the earth and measured it precisely with a plumb line. He hung the earth on nothing (see Job 26:7). The morning stars sang and the angels shouted for joy!

          This shines brightly against the black evil of our days when men slaughter innocents because they perceive that their god and prophet has been offended. Well, God is not a man that needs to be protected by His followers. Conversely, God is MY refuge and strength. He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

          Do these puny puppets of evil even consider how foolish it is to think that they must wrap their god and prophet in a rag and stuff him securely in their pocket? I will not worship and serve such a god. My God is much bigger and much stronger than that.

Dear Master of the universe, let me think clearly about who you are today and take comfort in knowing that you are not a man. AMEN
