THEY HEAR US SINGING!

Col 3:16

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Ps 40:3

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

           A few days ago, as I was leaving a meeting at The Old North Church in Boston, I was met by a young lady who was on her way to the church. She “had heard” that there was beautiful singing coming from the church and wondered if there was “an event” taking place. My wife told her that a service had just concluded. She seemed genuinely disappointed and we talked with her a bit and shared a gospel tract. What this young lady heard was a church packed with preachers and missionaries “singing with grace in their hearts to the Lord.”

           The inhabitants of the world may be reveling in their own Vanity Fair but when Christians sing they hear it. They are keenly aware that they do not have anything that would cause them to sing. They are stricken with an odd craving. So Sing, Christian, sing!

Dear Lord, let me go through this day singing and attracting others. AMEN
