AUTUMN IS A PROMISE KEPT!

AUTUMN IS A PROMISE KEPT!

Gen 8:18-22
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Kept by grace through days of judgment, Noah found himself in a new world which had been cleansed from her old problems. He had prepared for this day by taking onto the Ark more of the clean sacrificial animals than just the two. He took of those and offered them on an altar of gratitude.

Today’s cooler temperatures and colorful changing of colors is part of God’s promise that the rotation of seasons would continue unabated. Autumn and harvest time is both a time of rest and a time of preparation. The harvest must be gathered in and preserved for soon winter will come. It is a wonderful time but there is a vast harvest of souls waiting to be gathered! Jesus spoke of it long ago.

John 4:35
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Dear Lord, let me be a harvester of souls. AMEN
