THE SWEET AROMA OF PRAYER!

THE SWEET AROMA OF PRAYER!

1 Peter 3:12
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

Rev 5:8
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

I have an old prayer list which I checked this morning to see how things were going. I discovered that a young girl had been cured of cancer, another had a dramatic change of attitude and a difficult administrative situation had been resolved. These changes we call answers to prayer.

His ears are open to our prayers. In fact prayer seems more important to God than to us. He loves to hear our prayers! They are sweet perfume in his nostrils. The altar of incense in the ancient Tabernacle was a symbol of the prayers of God’s people.

"Prayer is like the dove that Noah sent forth, which blessed him not only when it returned with an olive-leaf in its mouth, but when it never returned at all.” Robinson's Job. Dear Lord, I thank you that your ears are open unto my prayers. Forgive me of my prayerlessness. AMEN
