TURN NOT FROM IT!

Josh 1:7-8

7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

The season of gift giving and toy buying is nearly upon us. Many, usually men, will glance at the assembly instructions and then set them aside to dive into the wonderful world of toy assembly. As often as not they will be forced to return to a more careful consideration of those directions. Too many of us treat the Word of God the same way. We ignore it in favor of our own wisdom and return to it only when aren’t sure what to do next.

1. THE WORD CLEANSES US!

Ps 119:9

9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

2. THE WORD SEARCHES US!

Heb 4:12-13

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

3. THE WORD MAKES LIFE A BLESSING!

Prov 3:1-4

3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Dear Lord, let me look carefully at your Word because it is the assembly instructions for a blessed life. Let me not turn from it. AMEN
