GLORY IN THE CHURCH!

GLORY IN THE CHURCH!

Eph 3:21
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

1 Peter 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1. The church is designed to do collectively what the believer does individually.

It is designed for worship!

The worship of God is nowhere defined in Scripture. Original words mean “to kiss forward or towards, to revere, to honor, or to serve.” The idea of worship includes all the activities of one who lives in such a way as to acknowledge God.

Worship is not confined to praise or even attendance at church. It is the conscious and unashamed recognition of God’s person, attributes and claims upon us.

2. Do Christians lie when answering religious surveys?

An old study is challenging conventional thought on how Americans practice their faith. Gallup, for instance, reports that 45 percent of Protestants and 51 percent of Catholics attend services weekly.
But the American Sociological Review (December, 1993) suggests that many people stretch the truth when answering pollsters about their church attendance habits. Studies of actual head counts in selected churches found that only 20 percent of Protestants and 28 percent of Catholics are in church each week.
Another study measured four religious areas besides church attendance, revealing varying levels of commitment: 19 percent of Americans are religiously committed (practicing their religion regularly); 22 percent are modestly religious; 29 percent are barely or nominally religious.

The majority of us do not enthrone God, we enthrone common sense. We make our decisions and then ask the real God to bless our god's decision.

Dear Lord, my highest calling is to worship you. Today may I and my church glorify you by acknowledging you in all we do. AMEN
