NOTHING HIDDEN!
Luke 12:1-2
he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Eccl 12:13-14
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
In a Texas city not far from me, there are public toilets on the town square made of glass! The patron who goes in to take care of business can clearly see anyone who is outside while the specially treated glass keeps inquisitive eyes from seeing inside. It is a bit unnerving for the patron! Try to imagine if the glass panels were installed incorrectly. The patron would feel secure in his privacy while the townspeople would always have something interesting to see.
Assume that God sees everything you do and knows everything you think. The only way to feel secure in His presence is to establish a relationship based upon truth. When Adam sinned in the Garden, the first thing he tried to do was to hide. He was now ashamed of what was once open to review.
David, the Psalmist, asked for an intimate relationship with God. He wanted nothing to distort God’s view of him so that he could gain a more perfect vision of God.
Ps 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Dear Lord, often our relationship with others is built upon falsehood and hypocrisy. Let it not be so with us. Search out those hidden things so that we may commune freely. AMEN
