RESPONDING
TO UNREASONABLE ATTACKS!
1 Peter 4:12-13
12
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings;
that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
If
you are living your life for Jesus you will eventually be falsely accused
and mocked. Expect it. It is part of the precious package of fellowship with
the Lamb of God. When this happens, here is how to respond.
Don’t! That’s right.
Don’t respond. Mud slinging makes no one clean. Don’t make a bad situation
worse by increasing the volume and adding more hysteria. You will get through
this and you will be better for it.
Do! If the
accusations are valid then make adjustments and corrections. Abandon the idea
that you can live your life without flaws. We are imperfect and most likely
someone will see those flaws and point them out. It’s embarrassing but
educational. Fix what needs to be fixed without pointing fingers at the
finger pointers.
Rejoice! That’s right.
God is up to something and this may be the door of blessing. Understand that
the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord (Proverbs 21:1). Understand
also that God can take a bad thing and bring forth good. Just look at the
entire life of young Joseph!
Ex 14:14
14
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Lord,
when we are attacked our first reaction is to counterattack. We are independent
spirits and we don’t appreciate our personal sovereignty being violated. Remind
us that we are not independent at all. We are dependent upon you and your
sovereignty. We need your grace. Thank you for it. AMEN
