WELCOME
SPRING!
Gen 9:13
13
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth.
Gen 8:22
22
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer
and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Good
news
for we who are counting down the days until warmer weather arrives. Today is
the first day of spring! This is the time when the sun passes the celestial
equator and days become longer! No more going to work or school in pitch
darkness.
Spring
is part of God’s promise! When Noah finally left the ark, God promised that
the four seasons would continue “as long as the earth remained.” Apocalyptic
climatologists could have saved themselves a lot of grief by reading the Bible.
As we say here in the South, if you don’t like the weather just wait a few
minutes and it will change.
The
rainbow is a marvel of nature. It can, of course, be explained
scientifically but it would be like trying to learn what kind of paint was used
on the Sistine Chapel. No, the rainbow is a promise of the constancy of a
faithful God. His anger does not last. His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting.
Thank
you, Lord, for your steadfast love and mercy! AMEN
