INGRATITUDE
AND ENTITLEMENT!
Rom 1:21 Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful;
but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
Ingratitude
is a result of the fall of man. Walking with God in the cool of the
evening, it must have been easy to thank God for life and all that the Garden
provided. When Adam looked at his wife he must have turned to God and offered a
word of thanks. After the fruit was eaten Adam blamed his wife and the God who
had given her to him.
Ingratitude
is number two
in the downward spiral toward the most wicked depravity. Man refused to glorify
God which both is and led to ingratitude. This led to a darkened heart. The darkened
heart produced all sorts of evil which led to God releasing them to their own
ways.
Proverbs
18:16 says: “
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”
Notwithstanding the great gifts of God are received hungrily and without
thanks.
Check
yourself!
Is there someone you should thank? Why not write a note or make a call to
someone and simply say “Thank you!”
Gen. 32:10 I am not
worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast
shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I
am become two bands.
