THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
Ezek 22:26

Ezek 44:23
23 And they shall teach my people the
difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern
between the unclean and the clean.
Along with the
cultural upheaval which so marks our time, we see a confusion between right and wrong!
In questioning the sacrosanct we have committed sacrilege. In abandoning the
vestments and instruments of worship, religion has become common. We gasp at nothing! We have lost both
sophistication and deportment in approaching a holy God. In abandoning
traditions, we have gone too far and have blurred the lines between the holy
and the profane.
In the Old Testament,
whenever God wanted to do something with a man, he revealed himself in both majesty and
holiness, for He could hardly do otherwise. In Isaiah chapter 6, Isaiah saw God
high and lifted up. God revealed
himself in grandeur that was awe inspiring. The contrast was so keen that
Isaiah was immediately reminded of his sins. Shame, repentance, and
worship were the results. In Genesis 28:16, Jacob saw a vision of a great
staircase upon which angels ascended and descended from heaven to earth. He
concluded that God was in that place and that he had been ignorant of it.
It is the duty of the
priest or pastor to
teach the people that there is a difference between the holy and the profane.
Only when we grasp this will our relationship with God be what it should be.
Open
My Eyes, That I May See
Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Refrain
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!
Dear Lord, make crisp the lines of right and
wrong in my life. Be thou holy unto me. AMEN
