HE WAS - AND IS - AND
IS TO COME
Rev 1:4
4 John to the seven
churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which
is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits
which are before his throne;
Rev 1:8
8 I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was,
and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev 4:8
Holy, holy, holy, Lord
God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
It is hard for us,
as finite beings, to make sense of the eternality of Jesus. We can’t remember our
youngest years of childhood. We rely on stories of our baby days. Old photos
and documents give some insight into the lives of relatives before our birth.
It is called history and some of us have a true hunger for it.
Day after day
we transition from former to future while living in the present. We don’t give
it much thought and when we do it is a fearful thing. Even those whose future
is secure in Jesus, have some discomfort in that final transition from body to
spirit. It is called death, and it has a sting. (First Corinthians 15:55)
Easter arrives early
on this year’s calendar, and we welcome it enthusiastically. It is a reminder
of eternal life which Jeus promised to those who believe.
John 14:19-20
19 Yet a little while,
and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall
live also.
20 At that day ye shall
know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Thank you, Lord, for the
promise of life with You. AMEN
