THE GATHERING!
Jer
23:3
3 And I will gather
the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and
will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
How many
times do people move? The last time the Census Bureau
calculated this was in 2007, when it found that a typical American will move 11.7 times in their lives. Some of
these moves represent great distances.
The Bible. in various places, mentions a regathering of Jews from the
nations to which they have been exiled and dispersed. Since Israel's
establishment as a State, about 3.3 million immigrants immigrated
to Israel, about 44.3% of whom immigrated from 1990 onwards. The Bible
indicates that this gathering will be a prelude to Messiah’s return.
In 1948 Israel became a nation. The
flood of holocaust refugees populated their homeland like a bag of puzzle pieces.
The picture that resulted is quite amazing.
Moving can
be traumatic whether that move is voluntary or
forced. However, it may be that God is moving you – like a puzzle piece – to
complete a purpose greater than you might have imagined. You may be the
very piece needed to complete the picture.
If you have
wandered away from God and away from church
perhaps it is time to yield to the deep inward stirrings to simply come home!
Zech
8:8
8 And I will bring
them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my
people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
Dear Lord, bring into your church those who have been
scattered. Let their soul find rest there and let the church find that missing
piece. AMEN
