TO END ALL WARS
Matt 24:6-8
6 And ye shall
hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these
things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall
rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines,
and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are
the beginning of sorrows.
Armistice Day is commemorated every
year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World
War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, at 5:45 am for the cessation of
hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven in
the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh
month" of 1918. But, according to Thomas R. Gowenlock, an
intelligence officer with the U.S. First Division, shelling from both sides
continued for the rest of the day, ending only at nightfall. The
armistice initially expired after a period of 36 days and had to be
extended several times. [Wikipedia]
Mankind seems relentless in his hatred
for his fellow men. The first battle began when Cain rose up in his field and
slew his brother Able. Since that time the rock, as a weapon, has been refined
and irradiated.
My father had a physical impairment the
kept him from the second global conflict – almost. He worked at Oak Ridge,
Tennessee in research and development. He was also, for a short time, a guard
manning a .50 caliber machine gun. One day they shut down the “line” and told
the workers to take a seat. On that day they were told of a new bomb – one bomb
– that had destroyed Hiroshima. Daddy cried! I don’t think he ever quite
forgave himself.
Isa 9:6
6 For unto us a
child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Dear Lord, let your
mercy and peace be upon us today. AMEN
