NO PROGRESS WITHOUT RISK!

1 Sam 14:6-7
6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.
7 And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
On June 5, Eisenhower also wrote one of the most famous undelivered notes of US history. It’s known today as the “In Case of Failure Message.”
“Our landings in the Cherbourg-Havre area have failed to gain a satisfactory foothold and I have withdrawn the troops,” it began.
“My decision to attack at this time and place was based upon the best information available. The troops, the air, and the navy did all that bravery and devotion to duty could do. If any blame or fault attaches to the attempt, it is mine alone,” wrote the Allied commander in chief.
           D-Day was originally scheduled for June 5th but the unpredictable British weather prevented the attack for one full day. Only a brief break in the storms provided a window of opportunity. It was risky but it had to be done.
           Most people opt for the safe and the risk free. Jonathan attacked the Philistines with only his armor bearer while his father laid low with 600 men. Jonathan’s only confidence was in the chance possibility that THE LORD would work for him. That was enough.
           Today may bring success if you are willing to accept the risks.
Dear Lord, let me go forth with the confidence that The Lord may work for me. AMEN
