SMALL THINGS MATTER!

SMALL THINGS MATTER!

Zech 4:9-10

9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord , which run to and fro through the whole earth.

In every great building there are nails. When compared to a board, a nail doesn’t seem to be very important but it is the nail that holds it all together. If the nail should fail in its duty then the building is ruined.

In our economy the smallest article is the lowly penny. If we should lose one it hardly matters to us and if we should find one we might not pick it up. However, our whole economy is built upon this one coin. Small things when gathered together certainly matter.

Mr. Barnes says: The day of small things is especially God's day, whose "strength is made perfect in weakness; who raised Joseph from the prison, David from the sheepfold, Daniel from slavery, and converted the world by the fishermen and the tentmaker, having Himself first become the Carpenter. (From Barnes' Notes.)

Dear Lord, in the work you are building, let me be a faithful nail. Amen
