MISSION POSSIBLE!

 

Mark 5:15

15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

 

          The Demoniac of Gadara was indwelt by thousands of individual demons! When Jesus asked his name a crowd of voices shouted in harmony “legion.” Between 5,000 and 6,000 men made up a Roman legion.

 

          What was the starting point? When did the first demon gain entry? We are not told but we are warned by the shear horror of the possibility of entertaining a favorite demon who will invite five thousand of his friends to enslave us.

 

          This man’s condition seemed impossible to correct! He lived in the graveyard, was so miserable he cut himself with sharp rocks, and screamed out in torment night and day. Some had tried to chain him but the strength of a legion of evil spirits broke those shackles like they were string. “No man could tame him.”

 

          Do you have an uninvited guest tormenting you? Is there one sin or habit that you desperately want to be rid of? Is there a circumstance that seems impossible to you? Perhaps you have asked for help, but no man has been able to tame your tormentor. Well, there is good news because Jesus is capable of turning impossible situations into triumph.

 

          We at last see this man clean, clothed, and in his right mind. He is sitting with Jesus and asks to follow Him, but Jesus sends him home to witness to his family. No screams would come from the graveyard tonight!

 

Luke 18:26

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

 

Dear Jesus, there are some reading this that are enslaved with unbreakable chains. I ask that you liberate them today by your unequaled power. Love them with your immeasurable love and restore them. AMEN
