SCATTERED ABROAD
James 1:1-4
1 James, a
servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 My brethren,
count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this,
that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let
patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting
nothing. KJV
Diaspora, dispersed,
and far-flung! James addressed his kinsmen unassembled. He mentions that their trustworthiness
had been and was still being put to the test. He explains the reasons for it. Perfect (Greek, teleios) which means
completeness. Entire! This is the Greek word holokleros
which means “complete and perfectly sound in every part.” Wanting nothing! To have no unsoundness.
Many, if not most,
of my friends are SEEDS sown in the world by the hand of the Sower.
Theirs is a life of purpose, although some are unaware of that. Their various
assignments make it difficult to assemble in fellowship and friendship. Most
will communicate remotely until harvest day comes. A loneliness and longing are
felt throughout.
Heb 10:24-25
24 And let us
consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Dear Lord, bless the seed you have scattered abroad. They are my friends.
AMEN
