AVOID A MOB MENTALITY
Ex 23:2-3
2 Thou shalt not
follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline
after many to wrest judgment:
3 Neither shalt
thou countenance a poor man in his cause. KJV
John 16:2
… the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. KJV
Politics and Religion are strange but
similar fellowships. Both preach and respect unity and uniformity, but both are
in need of earnest, independent thought. Never be
afraid of a question if it leads you to the truth! Jesus said: “Ye
shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) He said
this to Jewish religious leaders who said: “We be children of Abraham and have never been in bondage.” The problem was that they were blind to the
fact that they were even at that moment occupied by and
in bondage to an invading Rome. Never confuse how you
feel with what is real!
Hear the crowd cry out, “Barabbas, give us Barabbas!” See one elbow his
neighbor and ask, “Who is Barabbas?” So it is with those who refuse to truly
think. Such is the power of an unthinking mob.
Do not mourn the loss of a previous opinion when honest research leads you to a new
one! If you must mourn your former ignorance, do not spend too much time
doing so because, if you do, you are in danger of returning to it. Lovely ignorance is more danger than ugly truth.
Lord, let me find the truth and follow it. AMEN
