CONSTANCY!
Ps 119:31
31 I have stuck unto
thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.
Ps 119:33
33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy
statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
Job 13:15
15 Though he slay me, yet will I
trust in him:
We are living in a walk-away time! The divorce rate has affected the marriage rate. The fear
of failure has caused some young people to forego marriage and opt for a relationship.
That is what crushed the “woman at the well” in John 4:18. After five failed
marriages she simply abandoned hope in constancy.
Constancy is forged
and identified in the furnace of difficulties. We have learned to trust in a
constant God but can God count on us? John chapter 6 painfully describes a
vanishing crowd of followers who walked away from some “hard sayings” of Jesus.
The pain of abandonment caused the Master to ask his twelve “Will ye also go
away?” Peter simply replied that they had nowhere else to go. Sometimes
constancy comes down to this!
Constancy has other names
like faithfulness and perseverance. We
know it when we see it and it is most observable wen it is gone. Athletes know
the benefits of constancy and the failure of quitting.
We have a constant Savior. We should be like Him.
Ps 48:14
14 For this God is our God for ever
and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing
constancy. AMEN
