IT’S
GROUNDHOG DAY!
What
does the Bible have to say about Groundhog Day? Absolutely nothing! But it
does mention the futility of various forms of fortune telling.
Isa 47:13
13
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the
stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these
things that shall come upon thee.
Babylon
once boasted
that she would stand like a proud queen – forever! This we see from verse 7.
“And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these
things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.” Isa 47:7
Babylon’s
idol gods and occult seers could not and did not predict the judgement that
would befall her. She once stood as a proud lady but now she is a ruined widow.
Babylon showed no mercy on the Jews and God judged her accordingly. Cyrus
swooped down upon her like a bird of prey!
So,
today we learn
that there will be six more weeks of
… whatever God decides to give us!

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer
and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Lord,
let me trust in your gracious nature and receive at your hand what you know I
need. AMEN
