RELENTLESSLY PURSUED!

RELENTLESSLY PURSUED!

Gal 6:5
5 For every man shall bear his own burden. KJV
Gal 6:5
5 For every person will have to bear (fbe equal to understanding and calmly receive) his own [glittle] load h[of oppressive faults]. AMPLIFIED

Prov 28:1
28 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

We are relentlessly pursued by ourselves! We can’t run far enough or fast enough to escape “our own little load of oppressive faults.” Yet we mistakenly think that we can escape by running away from family, from responsibility and from God. Family constantly challenges us because they know us so very well and yet they love us in spite of that knowledge. Duty stands like a sentinel warning and alerting us to the dangers we pose to ourselves by our own self-destructive behavior.

God is also relentless in His pursuit of our soul. He creates in us an empty spot that refuses to be filled with any other substitute. The emptiness echoes night after night and day after day. We shovel into the vacuum many things which we think will suffice to fill it but to no avail. We fill our days with labor and our nights with revelry but the emptiness is still very empty indeed. We remove ourselves from religious influence thinking to silence the persistent call of God. First we remove ourselves from religious duty and then from religious teaching and finally we replace religion with heathenism yet we can’t escape being pursued by self.

We can only escape the relentless pursuit of our own load of oppressive faults by confronting them. We only escape the relentless pursuit of God by running to Him and not from Him.

Matt 11:28-29
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Dear Lord, show me that I may only escape if I stop running. AMEN
