STABLISH OUR HEARTS!
1 Thess 3:12-13
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
I found this prayer in a book entitled The Treasury of American Prayer compiled by James P. Moore Jr. It is published by Doubleday and I recommend it to you. I paid one dollar for it on a bargain book shelf. It was well worth my investment!
Elizabeth Alden Scott Stam served as a missionary with her husband in China in 1934. The following written prayer was found as packing material used by a faithful cook to cover her ceramics after she and her husband were brutally murdered by Chinese Communist soldiers.
Save us and deliver us from the hands of our enemies; abate their pride, assuage their malice, and confound their devices; that we, being armed with thy defense, may be preserved ever more from all perils, to glorify Thee, who art the only giver of all victory.
Stablish our hearts, O God, in the light of battle, and strengthen our resolve, that we fight not in enmity against men, but against the powers of darkness enslaving the souls of men; till all enmity and oppression be done away, and the people of the world be set free from fear to serve one another; as children of our Father, who is above all and through all and in all, God for ever and ever. Amen
1 Peter 5:10-11
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Father, let me be turned resolutely in your direction. Let me be established or “set fast” so that my earthly shepherds need not seek after me. AMEN
