EVEN HIS ENEMIES

 

Prov 16:7

7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

 

          A person’s relationship with the Lord affects every area of his life. The first thing that changes is the person himself. Paul describes a gradual transformation accomplished by the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit.

 

Col 1:10-11

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.

 

          The next thing to be affected is his family and particularly his wife.

 

Eph 5:24-25

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.

 

          The harmony we have in Jesus even affects our enemies. Particularly, I think, with those enemies who are enemies without a cause. Our actions and reactions are moderated by the Holy Spirit and, therefore, soften our enemies.

 

Rom 15:13

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

 

Dear Lord, we see a troubled world. Help us to be a holy influence upon it. AMEN
