IF YOU CROWN HIM KING, HE WILL CLEAN YOUR TEMPLE
Luke 19:45-48
45 And he went into
the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
46 Saying unto
them, It is written, My house is the house
of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
47 And he taught
daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the
people sought to destroy him,
48 And could not
find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him. KJV
The people had just shouted
their praises in an impromptu coronation. It was almost time to offer the
sacrifice and Jesus went into the Temple. What he observed was a marketplace and
a polluted courtyard. The scene was one of righteous rage.
Things haven’t
changed much since then. People who had enjoyed the fish and bread,
the physical healings, and the marvelous miracles had decided they wanted Jesus
as King and commander of their life. It was a good choice, but if you crown a King,
you must also know that He intends to reign. They did not get what they
expected. They got what they needed which was a return to orthodoxy, purity,
and holiness.
LEAD ME TO CALVARY
Author: Jennie
Hussey
King of my life,
I crown Thee now,
Thine shall the
glory be;
Lest I forget Thy
thorn crowned brow,
Lead me to
Calvary.
Lord, help me to know both the blessing and the rebuke of your reign
over me. AMEN
