DOES JESUS CARE?

 

Heb 4:15-16

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. KJV

 

          Today’s devotional was prompted by a friend who has lost her little dog. In asking prayer she thought it silly to ask for prayer. Well, dear friend, Jesus cares.

 

          Frank E Graeff is the author of the song, Does Jesus Care. Frank E. Graeff was a minister in the Methodist denomination and served some of its leading churches, in the Philadelphia Conference. He was well known for his sunny disposition.

 

          He maintained a sunny disposition despite the severe testing experiences that he had to go through throughout his life. My research did not find any details regarding his troubles. This song was born out of these testing experiences, and he comes out still trusting in the love and care of Jesus.

And the way grows weary and long?

His heart is touched with my grief;

When the days are weary,

The long night dreary,

I know my Savior cares

 

Dear Lord, remind me that the pleasant people I meet from day to day are often pleasant despite unpleasant circumstances. They have found comfort and strength in YOU. Let me be like them. AMEN
