THE POWER OF SINGING!

2 Chron 20:21-22

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

The Israelites were once again facing armed conflict. Their strategy was to sing! The familiar psalm repeated in Psalm 106 and 107, “praise the Lord; for his mercy endures forever,” was the theme. The Lord set “ambushments” and the enemies were turned against one another. This happened with Gideon’s campaign as well.

2 Chron 20:23

23 For [suspecting betrayal] the men of Ammon and Moab rose against those of Mount Seir, utterly destroying them. And when they had made an end of the men of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another.

I’m now retired from preaching, but I still sing in the choir. It is a logical conclusion, I think. In eternity, to whom shall I preach and what would be the need? Oh, but to sing there will be no end!

Acts 16:25-26

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Dear Lord, put a song in my heart today for singing is powerful. AMEN
