WE ARE BEING WATCHED!

 

Heb 12:1

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

           It is only paranoia if they are not really watching you! We have grown mostly comfortable being watched and monitored by various means and agencies in our technologically advanced world.

 

           Christians are also being watched. Satan watched Job and caused him endless trouble as a result, but God was also watching to provide a rescue. Now, we see that there is a great cloud of witnesses gathered all around us.

 

           Who are these witnesses? Well, the Greek for witness is martus from which we get our English word martyr. Warren Wiersbe says that these witnesses were introduced to us in Hebrews chapter 11. “These people are not witnessing what we are doing; rather, they are bearing witness to us that God can see us through.” These are teammates who have already crossed the tape.

 

Rom 8:26

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
