THE GOD OF STABILITY!
1 Chron 16:28-31
28 Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. 29 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved. 31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth. KJV
We often project our national and cultural instability on the whole earth. We are certain, in our thinking, that other nations are as unsettled as we. Some may be more so and others may not be at all.
Nature ignores our tremors. The morning mist rises with the sun, and the bovine peacefully graze and then lay down to chew. The birds gather their daily bread and Ole Man River just keeps rolling along.
The word “stable” is the Hebrew word kuwn and means “standing erect or permanently fixed.” If your world is rocking and rolling, remember that God is in control.
Ps 33:8-9
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. KJV
Thank you, Lord, for always being who you are – where you are – and how you are. AMEN
