ANGRY
AND FURIOUS!
Prov
22:24-25
24
Make
no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
25
Lest
thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Prov
29:22-23
22
An
angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23
A
man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Last
night’s political debate almost offered more choices than a mind can
process! Thankfully, some eliminated themselves almost immediately by revealing
a thinly veiled rage wrapped in a mantle of self. Certainly our present
circumstance cries out for courage and intensity but the Word of God warns
against rage. It cripples good thinking.
Leaders,
especially in times of great conflict, must make hard – even harsh –
decisions but the meek shall inherit the earth! We need a leader like Jesus who
did not hold back when whipping the money changers from His Temple but was
gentle enough to take children onto His lap. May God grant us one like Himself
to lead us out of the chaos!
Matt
12:19-21
19
He
shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20
A
bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he
send forth judgment unto victory.
21
And
in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
Dear
Lord, look down upon us and give us leaders after your own heart. Come and heal
our land. Calm the rage that rises in our breast and bring us peace and a
little reviving in these last chaotic days. AMEN
