TEACH OTHERS!

 

2 Tim 2:2

2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

 

           Why is our culture falling apart? Why is our own government our enemy? 57% feel frustrated with the government, while smaller shares either feel angry (22%) or are basically content (18%). Americans increasingly believe the federal government needs sweeping reform. Fully 59% say the government needs “very major reform,” up from 37% in 1997. (Source: Pew Research) The “government,” is an easy target in these days of chaos and uncertainty but, as Pogo said, “We have met the enemy and he is us.”

 

           The Apostle Paul looked beyond himself and beyond the lifespan of his neophyte, Timothy, to a time when truth would fade because those who held it remained silent. We are here! Evil prevails not because it is stronger but because good men do nothing. It is time to show up, stand up, and speak up.

 

           Will your faith die with you? Discipleship is more than a twelve-step program. In whom have you poured your life? Mentorship is frustrating! Your student will be inexperienced, opinionated, and clumsy but press on. The alternative is that all your experiences and experience will fade with your passing.

 

           The generational transfer of truth is the essence of what we call “The Great Commission.” And he [Jesus] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

 

Dear Lord, let me suffer the frustration of mentorship. Give me the patience necessary to all teachers. Let me pour myself into others. AMEN
